Defender is a four wheel drive off road vehicle by British Company Land Rover.Its original series was launched in 1948.Its models are based on its dimension of its wheelbase.Land rover brought major changes in Defender with the changing time & technilogy.TDCi Duratorq engine was introduced in this vehicle in 2007 which was code named PUMA.It is fited with cariable geometry Turbocharger which resulted in a better accelration and better Torque.This engine is with a new six speed Gearbox.Same engine was used in Ford Transit and it very successful in it.
